Q. What is the City of Spokane Red Light Photo Enforcement Program?

A. This is a traffic safety program in which the City of Spokane utilizes state-of-the-art digital cameras and violation detection systems for the purpose of decreasing the number of red light violations.  For more information, visit the Spokane Police Department Website at www.spokanepolice.org and click on Photo Red, send an email to photored@spokanepolice.org, or call (509) 625-4181.

Q. WHY DID I RECEIVE A NOTICE OF INFRACTION?

A. Based upon images captured by an automated system, your vehicle was determined to have committed a red light violation.  As the registered owner of the vehicle a Notice of Infraction was mailed to you.

 

Q. What if the registered owner was not driving the vehicle at the time of the violation? 

A. You may submit a sworn statement to that effect to the Court to rebut the presumption, established in RCW 46.63.075, that you were driving the vehicle at the time of the violation.  Affidavits from individuals must be notarized.  An Affidavit of Non-Responsibility form can be obtained from the Court in any of the following ways:

ü  Download or print the Declaration of Non-Responsibility form.

Q. WHAT IS THE AMOUNT OF THE FINE?

A. The fine amount starts at $136.00. Payments will not be accepted at the Spokane Municipal Court. Failure to respond by the due date indicated on the front of the Notice or failure to pay, may result in non-renewal of your vehicle registration pursuant to RCW 46.16A.120, and/or assignment to a collection agency.
